Community Comes Together for Northern’s Continuing Education Classes Northern New Mexico College’s Continuing Education program at the El Rito Campus offers immersive, hands-on courses that connect participants to local heritage and practical skills. Highlights include Tai Chi classes, held in the peaceful campus park, where participants relax and balance body and mind through this ancient Chinese practice. The Horno Construction course taught traditional adobe-building techniques, with students reshaping a horno and celebrating with freshly baked bread. U.S. Department of Education awards Northern New Mexico College $2,847,151 Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is pleased to announce a $2,847,151 five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Northern is one of 49 institutions to be awarded the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) grant, which assists Hispanic Serving Institutions in expanding educational opportunities and improving the attainment of Hispanic students.
